How to Export All Adobe Analytics Processing Rules

Adobe Analytics is great at managing sites individually. Even a few sites are manageable with the built-in tools. However, what happens when you have a dozen or a hundred sites to manage? The on-site tools can get a little clunky and slow. In particular, managing processing rules is a pain in the butt! For instance, in the user interface when you load the page all of the rules are collapsed and if you have over a hundred rules the whole page lags. I will admit, in times of desperation I have tried multiple browsers and found that Firefox is less laggy than Chrome. Needless to say, there is a better way.

Now you can use Analyst Admin to bulk-download and export your Adobe Analytics processing rules quickly and have them in CSV format for feasible manipulation, documentation, and comparison.

Step 1 – Get your credentials

You need to have an API Username and Shared Secret. Follow these instructions to get your credentials.

Alternatively, you can click here.

Step 4 – Enter API Username and Shared Secret

Enter your API Username and Shared Secret from step one.

Step 5 – Get Processing Rules

On the sub-menu, click on Admin API, then Get Processing Rules.

Step 6 – Select Report Suites

Select the report suites that you want to download the processing rules for. Click the blue “+” boxes to add sites to the Selected List.

There is a 20 report suites per request limit, but feel free to repeat the process as many times as you wish. Contact me if you are interested in increasing the limit. I can set up increased limits upon request.

Step 7 – Start Download

Click the blue download button at the bottom of the page to begin downloading your Adobe Analytics processing rules. Analyst Admin will work its magic to get you all your processing rules in CSV format.
